Help baby Lyra get a helmet for plagiocephaly

Hi my name is Alvina and my daughter is suffering with a condition called plagiocephaly. Lyra was born on the 1st of July and was 4 weeks early, everything seemed fine at first but we did notice she favoured facing her right hand side. Then as the weeks passed we started noticing she had a flat spot on one side and a bulge on the other side of the back of her head. We have been repositioning her head but she moves as she seems to be uncomfortable. The condition is quite noticeable on Lyra as it makes her left eye appear smaller and she has a bulge above her right eye.The back of her head has a flat side and a bulge on the other side and her ears are misaligned. I fear it is also going to effect her development as since she has started using her hands she is mostly using only her right hand. She also struggles to look to the left when laid down it seems impossible for her as she can't get past the lump on the back of her head and I fear her neck muscles are not developing equally. Lyra has a referral to pediatrics but I am very aware with this issue that a helmet is very rarely funded by the NHS and also that time is of the essence and the faster she can start treatment the better. A helmet is £2000, Lyra is going for a assessment in Leeds next week and if they recommend she needs the helmet the deposit to start treatment immediately is £1000. I know everyone is struggling right now and any help for our girl will be greatly appreciated. We know that the side effects of plagiocephaly are not dangerous or harmful to Lyra and it may just change the way she looks cosmetically but I feel strongly the adverse effects on her self esteem and possible bullying ect could be extremely damaging to her. We just want her to have the best possible chances in life.

Plagiocephaly – the head is flattened on one side, causing it to look asymmetrical; ears may be misaligned and the head looks like a parallelogram when seen from above, and sometimes the forehead and face may bulge a little on the flat side.
