On Wednesday, August 20th, Conor Hearn and Kennedy Stratford welcomed their precious baby girl, Layla, into the world far too soon. Layla was born at just 24 weeks and 5 days at Sunnybrook Hospital. She is now in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and weighing less than one pound . Layla is expected to be in their care until early December.

Layla’s big brother, 22-month-old Callum, has been eagerly waiting to meet his sister. While Layla bravely fights in the NICU, Conor and Kennedy are navigating the overwhelming challenges of balancing time between home, work, the hospital, and caring for Callum.

The parents spent more than two weeks at Sunnybrook’s High Risk Pregnancy Unit, and now they continue to drive back and forth from Barrie to Toronto. The long daily trips, hospital parking, meals on the go, and time away from work have created enormous stress and financial strain.

This GoFundMe has been created to help ease that burden, so Conor and Kennedy can focus on being by Layla’s side while also caring for Callum.
