Help Baby Korra
Donation protected
Good Afternoon,
We wanted to make the public aware of a situation currently facing one of our own CCACS family members. Animal Control Officer Jaime Cardona’s wife, Sandra Cardona gave birth to a beautiful baby girl named Korra Cardona in February of this year. Korra was born with Down Syndrome which has caused her to face additional health challenges in her short time on earth. Since birth, Doctors have been treating Korra for two life threatening heart conditions called Atrial Septal Defect (ASD) and Ventricular Septal Defect (VSD).
To correct these two life threatening heart conditions, Korra will have to undergo open heart surgery. Doctors were waiting until Korra to turn six months old before planning the surgery. Unfortunately, Korra has taken a turn for the worse and has been hospitalized due to her heart condition. In addition to this, she is having to be fed through an NG tube. Sandra is currently on FMLA without pay and staying with Korra around the clock while Jaime continues to work and take care of their oldest child. CCACS employees are collecting monetary donations at 2626 Holly Rd. to help the Cardona family through this difficult time. If you wish to help the Cardona family and are unable to stop by our facility to donate, we have set up a Go Fund me account in the family’s name. Please keep the Cardona family in your thoughts and prayers. CCACS Staff would like to thank the citizens of Corpus Christi for their continued support.
