On a day that started like any other, our world was turned upside down. In November of last year, our sweet King, just 22 months old at the time, suffered a devastating drowning accident in a nearby lake. His parents searched frantically for him, only to find him in the water. He wasn't breathing. CPR was administered immediately, but there was no response.
Rushed to the hospital by ambulance, King finally took a breath again, but only sporadically. He was placed on a ventilator, and after an MRI, doctors gave us news no family ever wants to hear: King had suffered severe brain damage, and they believed it would be permanent. After two and a half months in the NICU, we were told there was nothing more they could do.
But we refuse to accept that this is the end of King's story.
Now at home, King requires 24-hour care. He is unable to walk, talk, or respond fully, but he is still here, still fighting. And so are we.
Through extensive research, we have found hope. There are specialized treatments, including hyperbaric oxygen therapy, that have helped children with brain injuries recover in ways doctors once thought impossible. We have connected with specialists who believe there is a chance for King to improve, but these treatments are costly and not covered by insurance.
We are asking for your help. The road ahead is long, and the financial burden is overwhelming, but we believe in miracles. Every donation, no matter the size, brings us one step closer to giving King the best possible chance at recovery.
If you cannot donate, we ask for your prayers. Pray for King. Pray for his parents. Pray for strength, healing, and hope. King is a fighter, and with your support, we can give him the care he needs to keep fighting. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
