October 1st started out like any other day—but it quickly turned into one of the scariest and most emotional days of our lives.
At only 23 weeks and 3 days pregnant, I went into unexpected preterm labor. Despite every effort to stop it, our daughter, Kennedy, made her entrance into the world at 7:45 PM, feet first and fighting for her life.
Born extremely premature, Kennedy wasn’t given high odds of surviving the delivery—but she has already proven to be an incredible fighter. For the past three weeks, she’s shown us what true strength looks like, holding on and pushing forward in the NICU each and every day.
Because of her fragile condition and need for intensive care, both Dan and I have had to temporarily relocate to Sacramento to be near the UC Davis hospital that can provide Kennedy with the best possible care. While we are endlessly grateful she is receiving expert support, being away from home and unable to work has placed a significant financial strain on our family.
We’re humbly asking for support—whether through donations, prayers, or sharing this page—as we navigate the emotional and financial toll of this unexpected journey. Funds raised will go directly toward:
• Temporary housing near the hospital
• Medical bills and insurance costs
• Daily living expenses while out of work
• Travel and transportation to and from the NICU
• Any future care Kennedy may need once she’s strong enough to come home
Every dollar and every share brings us closer to being able to focus solely on what matters most: being there for Kennedy during this critical time. We are so grateful for your support and prayers as our little girl continues to show the world what a miracle looks like.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts,
Klara, Dan and Kennedy
