Help baby Kennedy fight a rare heart condition.

After a long and emotional journey through fertility treatments and a heartbreaking pregnancy loss in July 2024, Nicole and Jason were overjoyed to learn they were expecting again — with their rainbow baby due in July 2025, exactly one year later.

But halfway through this pregnancy, they received devastating news: their daughter, Kennedy, has been diagnosed with a rare and complex congenital heart defect called CCTGA/LTGA — affecting just 1 in 200,000 babies. In addition, Kennedy’s heart has several other serious abnormalities, including:

• VSD (ventricular septal defect)

• Mesocardia

• Ebsteinoid displacement of the tricuspid valve

• Severe tricuspid regurgitation

• Diffuse hypoplasia of the aorta

Doctors have said that on a scale of 1 to 10, Kennedy’s condition is a 10 in complexity and severity. She will require multiple open-heart surgeries, starting just days after birth, and will spend at least two months in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU).

To give Kennedy the best possible chance, Nicole and Jason have temporarily relocated to Boston, where she will be treated at Boston Children’s Hospital — one of the only hospitals equipped to handle such rare and critical conditions in newborns.

This sudden, life-changing situation has come with immense emotional and financial stress. Nicole and Jason have had to temporarily leave their home, jobs, and support system to focus entirely on Kennedy’s care.

They are facing:

• Medical expenses not fully covered by insurance

• Travel and temporary housing in Boston

• Bills at home while they are away

• Day-to-day living costs during an extended stay in the hospital
