Help baby Kairo waiting for a donor

Baby Kairo is three weeks old and is fighting a rare gestational disease and needs your support. Kairo was born with GALD (Gestational Alloimune Liver Disease) due to his mother Alicia's antibodies attacking his liver while he was in utero. As a result, Kairo has sepsis in his blood, an enlarged kidney, liver and heart failure. After a blood transfusion at just seven days old, he is doing better and his heart is strong. He is recovering from sepsis but is in need of a liver transplant. Kairo was transferred from Surrey Memorial to Vancouver Children's Hospital, and has recently been flown to Toronto for a liver transplant.

Kairo's father Robin has been off work for three weeks while they wait for a viable infant donor. This could take anywhere between two weeks and six months or longer. He needs your support until he is able to return to work. Kairo's mother is currently on maternity leave with Kairo's one-year old brother Kieran. The hospital advised Alicia to apply for a hardship fund which resulted in her maternity pay being revoked and $600 was taken back. Robin is in self-isolation for two weeks and unable to stay at the Ronald McDonald Children's home until checks are completed. During the self-isolation time, only part of the hotel is being paid for, meaning Robin needs to pay for the remainder on his own.
