Help Baby Jericho Fight Hirschsprungs Disease

Donation protected

My name is Caleb Cryer, and I am putting this fundraiser together for my 7-month-old son, Jericho Amir Street, and his incredible mother, Tia.

I want to be completely transparent with anyone reading this: my journey to this moment has not been easy. I only found out I was Jericho's father a month ago. At the time, I was actively undergoing rehabilitation to turn my life around after past incarcerations. A major reason for my successful rehabilitation is my godfather, Mr. Dufor, a veteran who proudly served 22 years in the United States military. Today, his mobility is limited, and even as our family goes through a stressful transition, I make sure to still provide time to help him with his daily tasks, just as he showed up for me when I needed guidance.

Discovering I had a baby boy, and learning he was fighting a severe, life-threatening medical condition, changed everything for me. I am doing everything in my power to step up, be the father Jericho desperately needs, and be the supportive partner Tia deserves. But right now, we are facing a mountain we simply cannot climb alone.

Jericho's Daily Medical Battle

Jericho was born with Hirschsprung's disease, a rare birth defect where the bowel is missing vital nerve cells, making it impossible for his body to pass waste naturally. At just 7 months old, our brave little boy has already endured complex pull-through and reversal surgeries to remove the diseased parts of his intestine.

While the surgeries saved his life, the recovery is a grueling, daily battle. To keep his surgical sites from scarring over and closing up, we have to perform daily rectal dilations on him. This involves physically stretching his anatomy with specialized tools so his body can function. It is a highly invasive, distressing, and painful process for a baby. Watching our son cry during these dilations goes against every instinct I have as a father. It is an immense mental and emotional strain, and we know Jericho will need ongoing psychological therapy as he grows to navigate the medical trauma this disease is causing him.

Because of the intense, round-the-clock medical care Jericho requires, I am currently staying home full-time to be his primary caregiver, while Tia works full-time to try and keep our family afloat.

Our Family's Struggle

Tia is the strongest woman I know, but life has thrown unimaginable hardships at her. Two years ago, she lost her mother, for whom she had been a full-time caretaker. During that period of sickness and hospitalization, Tia was also fighting her own battle with a severe illness. Because of the lost work, medical emergencies, and the sheer weight of these overlapping tragedies, our family suffered and lost our stability.

Before I came into the picture a month ago, the heavy burden of survival fell entirely on Tia while she managed her health and cared for our medically fragile infant. We are currently living paycheck to paycheck, doing everything we can just to survive.

What We Need

We need to secure a stable and sanitary environment for a baby undergoing daily invasive medical procedures. We are urgently trying to raise $4,500 to get our family back on our feet.

Music for a Cause: How I Am Contributing

As an independent artist under the name NeoCaleb (distributed through UnitedMasters), I am using my platform and my passion to support my son. My upcoming 12-track album, 23 & 1, releases on July 23rd, and I am dedicating it entirely to Jericho's fight.

All proceeds from this album, streams from my latest releases like "I wish you well" and "To the top (Anthem)", and funds from upcoming charity concerts I am organizing will be donated directly to this GoFundMe. I am using every resource and talent I have to provide for my family, but we still need community support to bridge the gap.

I am asking for your help to give my son a safe place to heal, and to help me provide the stability my family deserves as I rebuild my life for them. Any donation, no matter how small, will directly help our family. If you cannot donate, please share our story or stream my music to support the cause.

Thank you for your time, your grace, and your support.

Sincerely,

Caleb (NeoCaleb), Tia, and baby Jericho
