Help Baby Jane Continue to Receive Medical Care

From the moment Jesse and Nicole Costello found out they were pregnant, they were filled with joy and anticipation. They couldn’t be happier learning they were going to have a girl. Jane Costello was born a few weeks premature, on January 23, 2019. She then spent 37 days in the NICU, displaying her feisty spirit while battling problems with her liver, thyroid and heart, as well as baby teeth and pneumonia. Many of the health concerns were due to prematurity as well as the fact that she has Down Syndrome.

The doctors and nurses that have cared and continue to care for her have been wonderful, and some have become like friends as they see them regularly. They’ve partnered with pediatric sub-specialists, including: Neonatology, Pediatric Endocrinology, Pediatric Cardiology, Genetics, Pediatric Gastroenterology, Pediatric Dentistry, Pediatric Ophthalmology, Pediatric Neurosurgery, Pediatric General Surgery, and ENT (for submucus cleft palate and mild hearing loss in both ears) for Jane's ongoing medical care.

She has had a liver biopsy and open heart surgery and been hospitalized in the NICU, PICU and Pediatrics for general GI and cardio issues as well as 2 weeks in Denver following her open heart surgery.  She is on 24/7 supplemental oxygen for her heart and has a feeding tube to help her gain weight since she has difficulty swallowing. She will likely need a spinal surgery due to a tethered spinal cord and likely have a gastric tube inserted surgically as well. She has another visit planned for the first week in October at the Children's Hospital in Denver for additional medical treatment. She also requires regular speech and physical therapy for development. She'll require on going care.

Through all of this, Nicole’s job has been flexible, but it has come to a point where she needed to quit to care for precious baby Jane. While this was an easy decision for Nicole and Jesse to put Jane first, it comes with a financial impact. You can probably start to fathom the costs associated with the medical treatment even after insurance, plus what they’ll have without her company's assistance with insurance. Adding to that, regular day to day living expenses to pay for, such as mortgage without a second income.

Nicole is one of the sweetest people you could ever meet, and she instantly lights up a room with her mega-watt smile. She would never ask for anything, but would be the first to offer help. I ask you for your help in support of their financial needs to assist in the ongoing medical expenses, or on a regular basis - whatever amount. It is tangible and appreciated. Your help and support has a tremendous impact in relieving the financial stress so that they may focus on their incredible fighter Jane.

Thank you!
