Help Baby Jack Jax Bounce Back!
Donation protected
Sweet baby Jack was born Down right perfect July 29th, 2023; quite a bit earlier than expected but ready to share his bright eyes and sweet spirit with the world. Since he was born, he has faced a roller coaster of complications including rare heart defects, multiple surgeries, infections, breathing complications, g-tubes, and more all while warming the hearts of his parents, family, and NICU and CICU Staff. Baby Jack has been such a champ fighting through each surgery, infection, and complication. This sweet babe has already faced more in his few weeks of life than many face in a lifetime.
Along with all the joys and anxieties that come with bringing a babe into the world, Jack's mommy and daddy, Teresa and Nick (and we can't forget his two big brothers), have known their journey would be unique as Jack was diagnosed with Down Syndrome. They have wholeheartedly embraced all the unknowns with open hearts, positivity, and a unwavering faith that God has a plan. They always knew, without question, that baby Jack Jax was a precious gift that would change their lives.
As approximately half of all babies born with Down Syndrome have some form of a heart defect, Baby Jack's family expected medical needs after he was born. The reality they have faced, is more than any parent could have imagined. While Jack does have a more common heart defect associated with Down Syndrome (Atrioventricular Canal defect or AVC), no one expected he would be born with an extremely rare heart defect in which his pulmonary artery is wrapped around his trachea. This has already stressed his little body to the max, causing him to stop breathing multiple times requiring compressions, additional life saving measures, and emergency surgery. His journey won't stop here, as I type this, this sweet babe is in critical condition fighting for each breath.
My cousin Teresa, her husband Nick, and their two other little boys, have been fighting right along side baby Jack. The extremes they have faced in the past few weeks is astounding. From waiting weeks to be together as a family of 5, to three attempts at going home only to have to be rushed back to the hospital for more life saving measures, holding onto hope and praying for miracles. Through all this, the world has still turned and they have done their best to balance the needs of their whole family being torn between the CICU and home.
YOU CAN HELP! We, all together, can make this awful experience a little easier.
1) GIVE whatever you can, no donation is too small. Even $5 is a gallon of gas closer to bringing this family together. More allows a degree of reprieve for their daily living expenses or the medical expenses that they will face through baby Jack's journey.
2) SHARE on Social Media - The more people who hear of baby Jack's story the more we can support him and his family
3) EMAIL/TEXT this page to family/friends- gofundme.com/f/help-baby-jack-jax-bounce-back
4) PRAY for Baby Jack, his family, his care team, and all the children/families experiencing the unimaginable
Thank you for opening your hearts to this sweet family <3 Together, with all our support, Teresa and Nick can focus on Baby Jack, Oliver, and Henry.
