Our baby Isabella was born on October 15, 2024, at 4:28 pm, weighing 9.9 lbs. What was supposed to be one of our best moments in life turned unexpectedly bad. A natural birth turned into an emergency C-section. Our baby came out crying and fighting but was not able to maintain her oxygen and remained blue. No one knew why, so she was transferred to another hospital and was admitted into the NICU where they got an echocardiogram and found out that she was born with a heart defect called Transposition of the Great Arteries or TGA for short.
That same night, our family was separated. My husband went with her while I stayed back to recover from my C-section. She was transferred to Cook Children's Hospital in Dallas, 5 hours away from home, where she was taken into the cath lab to have a procedure done to give her more time before she had to have open-heart surgery, only being a couple of days old.
We are asking for donations to help with medical expenses and are truly thankful for anything that is given. God bless you all.
