She is their answered prayer- after years of trying and suffering miscarriages, Justine was able to carry Gabbi up to her third trimester. Unfortunately, Justine noticed absence of fetal movement, prompting them to rush to ER. Ultrasound revealed necrosis of the entire length of Gabbi’s small intestine. After an emergency c-section was done, she was transported to a Level 4 NICU in Fort Worth, Texas and required several medical procedures including bowel resection and placement of g-button, central line and even oral intubation.

After three months in NICU, Gabbi is finally able to go home, on room air, but still with g-button and central line. Justine has no option but to stay home to care for Gabbi, and their application for SSI has been denied. Insurance did not also approve coverage for private nursing visits for central line and g-button care, which are essential to ensure proper delivery of nutrition and medications that she needs- for long term.

This loving family needs our help financially, as they try to settle hospital bills, and continue to face challenges including moving to Fort Worth so medical assistance would be easily accessible for Gabbi, on a single income.
