Baby Ethan Gained His Angel Wings

This fund has been created to support my cousin Michael Contreras and his family in any way that we can. On Tuesday November 3rd, Michael’s 6-month-old son Ethan was admitted to Children’s Hospital of Los Angeles because he was experiencing an extremely swollen belly, severe irritability and muscle weakness. With some initial bloodwork, the doctors discovered that he would need an immediate blood transfusion. After the transfusion and a couple of tests, the doctors Diagnosed Ethan with Juvenile Myelomonocytic Leukemia (JMML). Ethan has already undergone surgery to test his bone marrow so the process can start of finding him a match for a bone marrow transplant, which is the best scenario for his diagnosis.

The journey is just beginning for Ethan. He will have weekly doctors appointments to test his blood counts and the progression/regression of his condition. He has many procedures, surgeries and maybe even bouts of chemo ahead of him. It will be months, if not longer before Michael, Michelle, Ethan and his brother Noah will return to the normal lives they recently knew. If you find it in your hearts to help, they will need the support now more than ever. They will need to focus all of their time and attention into getting baby Ethan healthy again.
