Hi our names are Joseph and Angela we the parents of Eli . He had to be admitted into Texas children’s hospital last Sunday March 12th . On the way to the hospital he lost his pulse and coded which lasted for any where from 20-75 minutes according to the report from hospital .  All while without oxygen going to his brain . Following that he has been placed on Ecmo machine which is Extracorporeal membrane oxygenation, also known as extracorporeal life support . During this period the team of doctors have been trying to stabilize his heart, lungs and brain . Today he has had his 3rd open heart surgery in attempt to control his arrhythmia . With the grace of god we are praying that a miracle will happen and he will go home soon .  We are waiting to see if his heart can heal and stay off of ecmo  and eventually have his open chest closed . We are eager to have our son come out of sedation and see him awake and moving  again . I can’t wait to see that beautiful smile . Please keep baby Eli in your prayers . Due to this unexpected event , my wife and I have been up at the hospital for over 10 days and have been living here while twin baby sister is at our home with grandparents, and family . Unfortunately due to this event I have not been able to spend time with our other children including baby Eliana which is twin 3 month old sister. In addition even though our world has stopped , the world around us continues . I was very conflicted with making a decision to set this up, but given the situation and not being able to leave the hospital I feel it is best in order to support my family during this time . .. you never know what can happen In the blink of an eye . On Friday the twins were normal and now he is with his chest open in the cardiac intensive care unit .   love and hug your kids . Cherish every moment you have with them .
