Help Baby Daniel With Medical Expenses
Hi. My name is Kimberly Blackwell and I am fundraising for my grandson, Daniel. Daniel Blaise was born at 8:30 AM on Wednesday June 30 in Cody, Wyoming to Angela and Charles Wenck. Within a few hours, it was evident that something was wrong with his heart and his spine. By late afternoon, Daniel was on a medic flight to Rocky Mountain Children’s Hospital in Denver, Colorado.
Daniel was diagnosed with Pulmonary Atresia which has required several heart catheterizations to place stents in valves to keep them open. The catheterizations were not 100% effective and Daniel had open heart surgery on Thursday July 15. Both Angela and Charles are able to be with Daniel in his room in the NICU of the hospital. Family is helping out with Daniel’s 5 siblings at home in Cody.
The spinal issues, which involve an unnaturally curved spine and incompletely formed vertebrae, will be addressed after his heart is stabilized. As he grows, he will need further surgeries to place larger stents. At this point, we do not know if the surgeries will be in Denver, or if they can be in Billings, Montana which is 2 hours from Cody.
Your generosity is most appreciated to help them with expenses and medical costs, including future surgeries.
