This is our daughter Charlotte Noelle Gonzalez, she was born December 18th, 2021 at 8:15pm in Bakersfield CA. She came early at 34 weeks. Charlotte spent her first couple of days in the NICU, on December 30th she had an echo scan done where they discovered 2 heart defects (Truncus Arteriosus & an interrupted Aortic Arch.) December 31st, Charlotte was transferred to CHLA to have surgery. You can only imagine how we felt when we were ready to bring our baby home.. Somewhere in the ambulance transportation she tested positive for COVID so her surgery had to be postponed. She was negative before leaving Bakersfield and we were negative. On January 12th Charlotte had open heart surgery, surgery went great and we were hopeful everything was behind us. Our little fighter has been in recovery since. She has been struggling with her feeding and we still don’t know what’s causing her to not keep her food down. As of today, January 28th, we were informed she will need another surgery to fix this. Sadly, we’re not sure when she’ll be able to go home. As parents we just want our sweet baby strong, healthy, & home with a somewhat normal life. Our little Charlotte has gone through so much in her first month of life and continues to show us how strong she is. We are so madly in love with her! Her grandparents, aunts, uncles, and cousins want to finally meet and hold her. We have not been back home nor back to work since New Year’s Eve due to not being able to leave her bedside. We’re asking for all the love, prayers, and support for our strong little girl. We would like to ask for help with these hospital bills and to help make ends meet during these financially tough times.
