Help Baby Born Amidst Home Fire

Hello. We started this fundraising campaign to help our daughter Carlye and son-in-law, Jacob. This young couple first met during their service with the US Army National Guard and were married last year. They were excited when they found out Carlye was pregnant with their first child. As it turned out, Carlye had a high-risk pregnancy and at 37 weeks, the doctors decided it was best to induce labor. On Tuesday, October 5th they welcomed a healthy baby girl into the world and named her Dylan.

The day before the birth, Carlye & Jacob were out making final preparations for the arrival of the baby and purchasing last-minute essentials. When they returned to their apartment, they found there had been a fire in their building due to what the fire department deemed faulty wiring near the electrical panel. Turns out, the heavy smoke damage and smell had ruined most of their personal belongings.

Not having a home to return to when they were discharged from the hospital, they were graciously taken in by Jacob's parents while they find a new place to live. We are grateful no one was hurt in the fire and that mom and baby are both well. We would like to help them replace many of the physical items lost in the fire.
