Help Baby Blakely Engelbart

Let’s all help the Engelbart’s! Baby girl Blakely Reign Engelbart! Born August 28th, 2023 at 4:48PM 6lbs 13oz and 19inches long. Unfortunately, there were some issues noted with her heart and she is in the nicu for extra testing, monitoring, and support. She has now been intubated and sent to Denver NICU for further treatment. We need support and comfort for their beautiful family! Please send prayers and well wishes for this beautiful baby and her wonderful family!

To preface, our dear Blakely and her heart have been referred to as a conundrum. Here is Mom’s interpretation to the best of my knowledge.

As of yesterday, Tuesday, we finally have some great news! Blakely’s patent ductus arteriosus, or PDA, closed and she tolerated it well. This had us nervous as it previously almost closed and her demand for oxygen significantly increased, needing intubated. There was some back and forth with the next topic, but there are no longer concerns for a coarctation of the aorta, fantastic news. She still is experiencing a severely enlarged right side of her heart, significant persistent pulmonary hypertension, an ASD, and small VSD. One intervention at a time and await result, as well as taking away interventions and waiting. An echocardiogram is scheduled for Thursday and we’re hopefully able to extubate soon. Still a long road but headed in the right direction again!❤️
