Help Baby Benny Fight - Support a Family in Need

We are reaching out to you with heavy hearts and a plea for help. Our beloved baby Benny has recently been diagnosed with an aggressive form of brain cancer called atypical teratoid rhabdoid tumor (AT/RT). Benny was born July 2. In September, Lindsey and Nick noticed Benny was not acting like himself. Their happy, bright eyed boy was now quiet and sluggish. As days passed, they began to notice his eye twitching and what seemed to be him zoning in and out. Lindsey and Nick took Benny to the local hospital to be evaluated. In a matter of hours, Lindsey and Benny were being transported to Children’s National in D.C. After confirming that Benny was having seizures, doctors began medications and a series of tests that would confirm their worst fears - Benny has a brain tumor. In the days and weeks since, Benny has had countless tests, MRI’s, and CT scans. He's had brain surgery to biopsy and remove part of the tumor. Most recently, Benny started chemotherapy.

This devastating news has turned their lives upside down, and they are now facing the biggest battle of their lives. Since receiving the diagnosis, our brave little warrior has been fighting tirelessly in the hospital. Lindsey and Nick's world has revolved around hospital visits, medical procedures, and the constant worry for precious Bennett. They have made it their mission to be by his side every step of the way, providing him with the love, support, and care he needs during this challenging time.

However, this journey has taken an immense toll on the family. Lindsey has been a constant presence in the hospital, ensuring Bennett receives the best medical attention and emotional support. Meanwhile, Nick has been traveling back and forth from the eastern shore to Washington DC, juggling the responsibilities of work and caring for their other three children, Colton, Addie, and Mia.

The financial burden of Bennett's treatment and the strain on family resources have become overwhelming. Medical bills and travel expenses have quickly accumulated. These mounting expenses in addition to the costs of caring for their family will leave them in a precarious position. We are humbly reaching out to you, our community, for support during this incredibly difficult time.
