My name is Joseph “Baby Bear” Johannsen, and I’m a burn survivor. I have the amazing privilege of being a camp counselor every year for a burn survivor children’s camp, hence the name “Baby Bear!”

In order to attend camp us counselors must take time out of work in order to give our volunteer time, and this often sets me and others back financially. This is definitely the case this year.

Unfortunately this year when I got back from camp, while out on the town a person attacked security of the establishment I was at and I ended up receiving a broken rib because I tried to help intervene and escort this person out. This is keeping me from returning to work in an efficient time to get back to work to pay my upcoming bills.

I feel awkward making this GoFundMe as it’s a self-centered fundraiser and I wish this wasn’t my situation, but I’m hoping this will help me stay up on my finances while I recover from the injury. Whatever you can spare will be greatly appreciated. Thank you and God Bless.
