As tourist visa holders in Canada, we face a unique obstacle: our baby is not eligible for provincial healthcare insurance. This means we must cover all medical expenses out-of-pocket, which has become a significant burden.

Our Story:

I'm Aira Figuracion together with my husband, are tourists here in Yellowknife, Northwest Territories. My life took an unexpected turn when I gave birth to my precious son, Azriel Cai, on September 30, 2024. Due to complications while giving birth, Azriel inhaled meconium, leading to infections, pulmonary hypertension, and a transfer to Royal Alexandra Hospital in Edmonton for intensive care.

Meanwhile, I underwent a minor surgery for placenta removal and blood transfusion at Stanton Hospital. After 3 days, I was discharged, but Azriel remains in the hospital for recovery treatment.
