Help Baby Autumn Fight Waardenburg Type 4 Syndrome
Donation protected
Hello, my name is AJ Pascarella along with my wife Hannah Pascarella, and we are reaching out to you with a heavy heart and a hopeful spirit. Our beautiful daughter, Autumn, was born just two weeks ago and has already shown us what it means to be a warrior.
At just 6 days old, Autumn underwent her first surgery after being diagnosed with Hirschsprung’s disease, a condition that affects the colon and makes it difficult for her to pass stool on her own. This alone would be a lot for any newborn—but Autumn’s journey doesn’t stop there.
She was also diagnosed with Waardenburg Syndrome Type 4, a rare genetic condition caused by a Sox10 mutation. This syndrome can affect hearing, pigmentation, and the development of the nerves in the intestines—hence her additional diagnosis of Hirschsprung’s.
As you can imagine, the emotional and financial toll of hospital stays, surgeries, genetic testing, and ongoing care has been overwhelming. We are doing everything in our power to make sure Autumn has the best medical care and support she needs to thrive—but we can’t do it alone.
We are humbly asking for your support—whether that’s through a donation, sharing this page, or simply sending prayers and positive energy our way. Every contribution goes directly toward Autumn’s medical expenses, travel to specialist appointments, and the long road of treatment and care ahead. Currently Autumn is with the NICU team at Crouse Medical Practice, but may have to be transferred out to Pittsburg or Boston because of how rare her disease is.
Thank you for being a part of Autumn’s fight. She’s already proven to be strong, and with your help, we know she can keep beating the odds.
With love and gratitude,
AJ + Hannah Pascarella
