Help Baby Aria's Journey to Recovery

Hello, please allow us to introduce ourselves, we are Asia Camacho and Jathan Conway and we truly appreciate you taking a moment to read our story. We have been blessed with the birth of our beautiful and precious daughter Aria Jae on May 2nd via C-section. At first, we were so full of excitement and joy upon her arrival, but not too long after she arrived, we received the most devastating and heart wrenching news that something was wrong with our baby girl. The doctor noticed she was not responding well to the standard tests given to infants. Subsequently, our baby girl was diagnosed with Esophageal atresia. Esophageal atresia is a congenital disorder in which a baby's esophagus does not form properly during pregnancy. The esophagus is a tube that connects the mouth to the stomach. With esophageal atresia, babies have two separate tubes instead of one—and they are not connected to each other. As a result, a feeding tube has been inserted through her umbilical cord in order for her to be fed and receive her vital nutrients. The doctors here on Guam in collaboration with a team of specialists in Los Angeles, CA have carefully considered the best treatment possible for our baby. The doctors have informed us that although EA can be life-threatening in its most severe forms and could cause long-term nutritional concerns, the majority of children fully recover if it's detected early. The best treatment for EA is usually surgery to reconnect the two ends of the baby's esophagus to each other. To our dismay, our island does not have a specialist nor the facility and resources for baby Aria to undergo this type of surgery. Our daughter would need to be medically evacuated to Los Angeles where a team of specialists will be ready and able to perform this significant surgery. With your gracious support and understanding, our family is humbly asking for your prayers, your love, and generous financial assistance. Any monetary donations will be used towards airfare, lodging and medical expenses. Any amount you're willing to contribute is so greatly appreciated, and if you aren't able to contribute at this time, your prayers and sharing our story with your friends and family
would mean the world to us.

Baby Aria continues to be monitored in the NICU while we wait for the doctors to determine the date of departure and the accommodations for surgery and care at the Los Angeles Children’s Hospital.

Please keep Baby Aria in your prayers as we navigate this difficult medical journey. We thank you for your time, kindness and prayers ❤️❤️

All our love,
Asia and Jathan and Avery Jace
