✨ Update on Arabella:

Arabella has now been diagnosed with MRSA and is currently undergoing testing for meningitis. She had reached 1 lb 12 oz but has since dropped to 1 lb 6 oz. Due to her fragile condition, she is unable to be transitioned to a better ventilator at this time. Her blood sugar spiked to 600 but is now under control, though it requires constant monitoring due to the ongoing infection. This has been an incredibly difficult setback, and Joseph and Mel continue to stay by her side, holding onto hope.

We are reaching out on behalf of Joseph and Mel, who recently welcomed their precious daughter, Arabella, into the world far earlier than expected. Born on December 26th at just 23 weeks and weighing only 1.003 pounds, Arabella is a micro preemie, fighting for her life every single day. She arrived due to a life-threatening condition called eclampsia that Mel courageously endured.

Mel has since been released from the hospital and is on the road to recovery, but the journey has been anything but easy. Arabella, their tiny miracle, remains in the NICU, where she continues to develop outside of the womb. Recently, Arabella was diagnosed with Periventricular Leukomalacia (PVL), a condition affecting the white brain matter critical for many essential functions. At this stage, further testing cannot be done until Arabella reaches full term, leaving Joseph and Mel in a heartbreaking limbo of uncertainty.

The emotional and physical toll on their family is immeasurable, and the financial burden is overwhelming. Joseph and Mel are navigating daily hospital visits, medical expenses, and the challenges of being new parents under such difficult circumstances.
