Long-time McKinleyville Lions volunteer Elizabeth Jones and her husband, Joshua, had been eagerly awaiting the arrival of their first child, Baby Anthony, originally due on May 4. However, at their routine doctor’s appointment on Tuesday, March 1, Baby Anthony required an emergency c-section due to severe distress. He weighed in at one pound, 15.5 ounces and was flown to Children's Hospital in Oakland. Elizabeth and Joshua followed him down when she was released on March 4. Other than two brief trips home for doctor’s appointments, they have been away from home and their family support for two months. They learned on May 5 that the doctors are anticipating that Baby Anthony will need to be in the hospital until possibly July.
Baby Anthony is a trooper and continues to fight! He shows a noticeable difference in his vitals when his mom and dad are with him. On his due date, May 4, he spent it being held by his mommy and daddy and now weighs just over four pounds! As you can imagine, staying in Oakland has created some financial issues for Elizabeth and Joshua, but their need to be near is imperative for Baby Anthony's well-being. The McKinleyville Lions Club has created this fundraiser to assist them with expenses as they anticipate a couple more months in Oakland. If you are interested in donating, all funds received (minus fees) will go directly to Elizabeth, Joshua and Baby Anthony! They would be forever grateful for any amount that you are able to donate. If you would like to make donation directly, please contact me.
Thank you.
