Help Baby and Sassy's Recovery

Hi all❤️Some of you may have seen my posts on Facebook about my kitties. If not, please take a moment to read. I wish this wasn't necessary but here we are, we are going forward....

These funds are desperately needed for my fur babies after-care; follow up appointments, prescription food etc, for my 2 13-year old rescues.

My main coon's mother was dumped in Texas and I brought them home to my parents who have since passed. They, like most of our animals, are my world.

I've been able to have both kitties treated, who got sick the same week, but now I've hit some financial difficulty after $2,000 in care.

"Baby". Baby was taken to her vet on Monday, March 31st after I saw her sitting in her litter box for almost an hour straining to urinate. She then went and tried other areas outside of her box. This went on all day. She's been diagnosed with feline sterile cystitis, a condition of the bladder lining. She's now on Cosequin, pain meds and Feliway for anxiety. The next step are X-rays to rule out stones and a prescription food. She's the sweetest thing, and never leaves my side.

"Sassy". Her sister was rushed to the vet the same week on Friday, April 4. She was agitated when her sister came back from the vet, as most cats are. She wasn't comfortable being held, and would growl if I got near her tail.

It wasn't agitation. She had an anal gland rupture (she has very long hair and the abscess wasn't visible) was running a temp, and the vet had to manually express the infection out which was absolute hell. Then she had to be put under anesthesia to lance the wound and implant antibiotics. She has to return for her follow-up where more fluid might have to be expressed. Had she not gone in, she probably would have gone septic and died.

Both kitties are home with me now and are as comfortable as can be expected with a good prognosis for a long life with me.
