Hi everyone,

We are reaching out on behalf of our sister and her family during an incredibly difficult and unexpected time.

Her young son, Alessandro, is currently in the ICU after being diagnosed with a severe inflammatory condition known as Kawasaki Disease (KD), which affects the blood vessels and heart. In his case, it has led to the development of coronary artery aneurysms, a very serious complication that requires close monitoring, strong medications, and specialized care.

Due to the severity of his condition, Alessandro was transferred to Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP), where some of the top specialists in the country treat children with Kawasaki Disease and its complications. While we are grateful he is in the best possible hands, this has been an incredibly terrifying and overwhelming experience for the family.

Right now, their entire world is centered around being there for Alessandro and supporting him through this critical time.

Because he is in the ICU, they are not able to stay with him overnight. They now have to cover the cost of nearby hotel accommodations just to remain close to the hospital, in addition to daily travel, food, and basic living expenses. Our sister is unable to work as she stays by his side full-time.

The financial stress is quickly becoming a heavy burden during an already heartbreaking time.

We created this GoFundMe to help relieve some of that pressure so they can focus fully on Alessandro’s recovery without the added worry of how they will manage day-to-day expenses.
