Help Baby Alcar Get Life-Saving Heart Surgery From Truncus Arteriosus
Hi everyone,
My name is Germaine Lourd. I am a clinical nurse specialist working in Hammersmith hospital. I’m reaching out with a heavy heart to ask for your support for my nephew, who was born on December 23, 2024 with a rare and serious heart defect called Truncus Arteriosus type 2. TA is a congenital heart defect where the right and left pulmonary arteries branch off from the common trunk close together but separately. This condition affects the way blood flows through his heart, and the only way to save his life is through open-heart surgery.
The estimated cost for his surgery in the Philippines are as follows:
Hemodynamic Studies & Angiogram: ₱200,000
Pulmonary Artery Banding: ₱300,000
Open Heart Surgery (RV-PA Conduit): ₱2,000,000
As you can imagine, the costs of this surgery, along with hospital stays, medications, and follow-up care, are overwhelming for his family. We want to give him the best possible chance at a healthy life, but we can’t do it alone.
Every donation, big or small, brings us one step closer to ensuring he gets the treatment he needs. If you’re unable to donate, sharing this fundraiser with others would mean the world to us and to baby Alcar.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness, prayers, and support. Together, we can give my nephew the fighting chance he deserves.
With Gratitude,
Germaine Lourd

Dear friends, family, and kind-hearted strangers,
I am reaching out with a mother’s deepest plea—my one-month-old son, Alcar, is fighting for his life. He was born with Truncus Arteriosus Type 2, a rare and life-threatening congenital heart defect that prevents his tiny heart from pumping blood properly. Without immediate open-heart surgery, his life is at risk.
The past month has been a whirlwind of fear, hospital visits, and sleepless nights. Every second, I watch my baby struggle to breathe, his tiny chest rising and falling with effort. The doctors say he needs surgery as soon as possible—a complex procedure that will reconstruct his heart and give him a fighting chance.
As parents, nothing prepares you for this. We dreamt of watching Alcar grow up, take his first steps, say his first words—but now, we’re faced with the unbearable reality that we might lose him if we don’t act fast. The medical costs are overwhelming, and we cannot do this alone.
We are humbly asking for your help. Every donation, no matter how small, brings us closer to saving Alcar’s life. If you can’t donate, we ask for something just as powerful—your prayers. Please pray for our baby’s healing, for his strength to endure this battle, and for the doctors who will perform his surgery. Your love, generosity, and prayers mean the world to us.
Please share Alcar’s story and help us give him the chance to live, to smile, and to grow up surrounded by love.
From the bottom of our hearts, thank you.
With faith and gratitude,
