Help Baby Alba Receive Necessary Medical Equipment

Hi, my name is Maya and I’ve started this fundraiser in hopes of helping my 4 m/o niece receive necessary medical equipment.

In December, my older sister Aliyah had her fourth child, Alba. She is an absolute joy and has stolen all of our hearts! Alba was diagnosed with laryngomalacia shortly after birth and recently underwent a sleep study in which they discovered she has severe sleep apnea. For those of you unfamiliar with Alba’s condition, it directly affects part of her airway. Alba frequently stops breathing thought the night, experiences both partial and complete airway obstructions, and has dangerous dips in her oxygen levels. Her condition puts her at a high risk for SIDS. The funds raised will go directly towards the cost of her prescribed sleep monitor that will help keep her safe through continuous monitoring of her oxygen and breathing patterns. The data collected by the monitor will also help to determine her need for oxygen support at night and give her doctors insight to determine if and when she can have surgery to repair her airway. As an added bonus, her family will be able to have peace of mind while she sleeps. Any additional funds raised will go towards other related expenses; traveling to specialists, taking time off of work, etc.
