Help Babies Sweet Pea and Lucas
Newborn baby Sweet Pea was found in a dumpster by a Good Samaritan and brought to Second Chance. Her arm and tail were badly mangled and she had a laceration on another paw. Needless to say she was malnourished and wasn't expected to live. Her arm fell off while she was at the vet and a few weeks later the damaged part of her tail also did. Immediately she was bottle fed around the clock and given fluids and meds. Now at almost 5 weeks old she is struggling to walk but is healthy and doing well.
Baby Lucas and his siblings were found under the seat of a truck someone had just purchased . The family that found them bottle fed all the babies as best they could but some didn't survive. Again Second Chance took these sweet kitties in, but because they weren't adequately fed, Lucas had to have emergency surgery to remove his eye. Eventually his other eye will also need removed but he needs to be older to survive a second surgery.
These are just two recent examples of the enormous vet bills incurred by Second Chance. Since they are a non-profit, they depend solely on the generosity of others to continue to help kitties needing attention.
