A new type of journey begins and one that is the toughest that any woman will face. Hi, my name is Melissa and I'm reaching out to share the incredible story of my younger sister B, a beacon of strength, resilience, and hope in the face of adversity.
B is a devoted single mum to 7 beautiful children, with 3 still young enough to live with her in Victoria: Anja (13 in July), Ethan (11 in April) and Zane (9 in November). Her older kids Bianca, Luke, Sacha and Rohan live in NSW and miss their Mum, little sister and brothers every day.
B was diagnosed with HER2+ breast cancer about a month ago. She has been told that she will need to complete 6 rounds of 2 types of Chemotherapy along with 2 types of anti-HER2 treatment. She will then need to undergo further surgery, radiation therapy and additional anti-HER2 treatment for at least 12 months, if everything goes well. This alone will be $6k-10k out of pocket as one of the anti-HER2 treatments is not covered, and needs to be paid by B.
You can understand with the stress of the simple day to day living and cost of living pressures, having the weight of this is like no other. Now, as B prepares for her rigorous treatment to combat this type of breast cancer, she needs our support more than ever.
Your contributions will not only assist in covering the costs of her anti-HER2 treatment but will also provide vital financial support for her ongoing medical needs, purchase family meals through a meal delivery service a few nights per fortnight when needed and
pay for a fortnightly house cleaner for at least 6 months.
