I received Azula from an owner that treated her less than she deserved and upon looking at her she was malnourished, displaying behavioral symptoms of abuse and has had consistent nightmares. For the first few months I was able to ensure that she got the vet care she needed and slowly helped her regain her strength with puppy food, vitamins, and lots of patience and love.

Over the past four months, I’ve watched her heal, but now she’s facing new health challenges. Azula is showing signs of cyanosis with certain areas of her skin and the back of her tongue turning blue to a bluish deep purple, and possible lymphoma in her facial lymph nodes which are constantly swollen. She’s also having trouble eating kibble, and gently switching foods hasn’t helped much. She may need to see an allergist, as she doesn’t seem to tolerate many foods.

Adding injury to injury. Azula was then attacked by two of the neighborhood dogs one evening in the back yard of my Father’s house and has since been sensitive to other pets, adding to her trauma, which I hope in the near future once she is stable and able to, introduce her to puppy classes to familiarize her with other animals once more.

The funds raised will help Azula begin the process of diagnosis and treatment, covering vet visits, tests, any potential procedures she may need, and behavioral therapy as well as special food. I truly believe this girl deserves the world and want to show her that not all humans will treat her poorly nor neglect her needs, both physical and emotional.
