My name is Azmi Fayyad. I’m a social worker in Gaza and a dedicated father of five children. My life’s mission has always been to uplift and support the communities here in Gaza, especially given the ongoing struggles and deep challenges we face regarding mental health and healthcare access. The stigma around mental illness and limited resources make the situation even more challenging for our community.
In 2020, I completed my Master's degree in Social Work to better equip myself with the skills and knowledge needed to help my community more effectively.
Since October 2023, the violence and hardship in Gaza have escalated to levels we have never experienced before. As a father, my immediate priority is always protecting and supporting my family, but my heart also calls me to continue serving my community in these trying times.
I have been deeply involved in several organizations that provide critical support for mental and psychological health. Our activities include educating children—not only for the sake of knowledge, but also as a therapeutic tool to help relieve stress, strengthen their cultural identity, and contribute to building a cohesive and supportive community.
However, despite my dedication, my family and I are now facing urgent hardship. With the destruction around us and severely limited economic opportunities, I currently have no means to provide basic necessities like food, clean water, or essential medical care for my children.
I humbly ask for your support. Every contribution, no matter how small, helps me directly provide food, clean water, medical care, and stability for my family. Your generosity enables me to continue serving my community and caring for my children during this difficult period.
Thank you deeply for your compassion, generosity, and solidarity.
Warm regards,
Azmi Fayyad
