I've loved the ocean and marine animals for as long as I can remember, and since I was little I wanted to be a marine biologist. Over the years, my passion has grown to include not just studying marine life, but also working to protect and conserve the delicate ecosystems that support them. As an 18-year-old senior in a small town, I've worked hard to pursue my dream, but opportunities like this don't come around often.

Right now, I'm in the process of applying to a summer program that would allow me to take my first big step into marine conservation. This program will give me hands-on experience, including the chance to help remove invasive Lion-fish from a barrier reef in Belize and earn my open water diving certification. Not only will this experience help me grow as a future marine biologist, but it will also make my college and job applications stand out. However, as a high school student from a working middle-class family, covering the tuition and travel costs is a challenge. I also need to make a down payment before I can complete the application process.

The funds raised here will go directly toward tuition and travel expenses, including traveling to Texas to meet my group and then to Belize for the program.
