My Story

In June 2020, in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic, I lost my job as a Program Officer at an international organization in Benin. These stressful circumstances were compounded by the fact that my family and I had recently relocated from the United States to West Africa. After a strenuous eleven months of job searching, a teaching opportunity arose at Arc-en-Ciel International School in Lome, Togo. Despite my fear of this drastic career change, I plunged in and gave it my all. In my first year as a teacher, witnessing the transformative impact I had on these young minds, I was captivated. By the end of my second year, I knew without a doubt that teaching was my true calling, there was no turning back. It had evolved from being a job into a profound passion, and the immense love I had for my students was often reciprocated, as you saw in the video above.

Recently, I was fortunate enough to be accepted into the Teach Now program at Moreland University. The only barrier standing between me and this invaluable opportunity is the program's tuition of $6500 and associated fees.

Why a Teaching Certification?

A teaching certification is more than just a piece of paper. It represents a commitment to excellence, a dedication to continuous learning, and a promise to provide the best possible education to future generations. With this certification, I will be equipped with the knowledge, skills, and strategies necessary to be the best teacher I can be and to continue to inspire my students and develop in them a life-long love of learning.
