My name is Ayla, I’m a 33-year-old single Mama living in Denver, Colorado. I work full-time as an oral surgery assistant and part-time as a delivery driver just to make ends meet, and I need brain surgery.

What I thought were frequent stress headaches and dizziness turned out to be a herniation of my brain stem into my spine called Chiari Malformation. Over time pressure on my spine has led to weakness and numbness in my hands. I now struggle to hold surgical instruments and don’t know how much longer I can keep doing my job.

I require immediate decompression brain surgery to permanently remove a portion of my skull and install a shunt to relieve the increasing pressure. Recovery time is at least two months and I won’t be able to work. I barely make ends meet now and cannot afford to take the time off without help. Any amount donated will be a blessing.
