In March of this year, our dear friend, Ayla Dunbar (35)—incredible wife to Cade and mom to two beautiful little ones, Layton and Leona (ages 3.5 and 1.5)—received the heartbreaking diagnosis of Cholangiocarcinoma (bile duct cancer).
Since then, Ayla has shown incredible courage through multiple grueling rounds of chemotherapy. Sadly, this was unsuccessful in shrinking the tumor, which was needed in order to safely remove it. This has led to the next course of action, a liver transplant. While she awaits a date for the transplant, she is continuing with chemotherapy and now radiation. With a transplant also comes the reality of relocating near Stanford for several weeks to months post-surgery, adding another layer of strain to an already difficult journey.
Ayla and her family live in Chico, while most of her care takes place at Stanford in Palo Alto. The constant trips back and forth have taken a huge toll—emotionally, physically, and financially. Between medical bills, travel, childcare, and time away from work, the burden is overwhelming.
We are raising funds to help Ayla’s family cover these expenses so they can focus on what truly matters—her healing and her time with her husband and children.
Ayla has always given her love, kindness, and laughter to those around her. She is the most genuine person we know. Now she needs our support more than ever. Every donation, no matter the size, brings her one step closer to recovery.
Please consider donating and sharing Ayla’s story. ❤️ Thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
