Help Ayelet (PO '24) Recover from the Palisades Fire
Donation protected
A founding member of Haverim Claremont, the Claremont Colleges’ Jewish Student Union, Ayelet Kleinerman was a rock for Jewish students at the colleges.
Living with cousins in Los Angeles since graduating from Pomona in May, Ayelet has now lost her home, car, and her belongings in the Palisades fire. All that remains of her cousins’ home is the chimney, and her minivan, which she lovingly converted into a camper-van, complete with a kitchen and bed, is gone.
Ayelet’s name is well known in the Claremont Colleges Jewish community. Ayelet devoted enormous amounts of time and energy in college speaking up against antisemitism and inspiring Jewish pride in an often hostile campus environment. Born and raised in Israel, Ayelet recently lost her mother to cancer shortly after the October 7th attacks.
Ayelet and her relatives are safe, but since she and her cousins were out of town, little could be saved from the home before the fire consumed it. Now, because she cannot prove residency, Ayelet cannot return to the ruins because of anti-looting restrictions.
This fundraiser is being jointly coordinated by Haverim Claremont and Claremont Hillel. All funds will be given directly to Ayelet to help her rebuild and replace her car and belongings.
