Help Ayden Heal: Overcome Stroke and Aneurysm

On July 12th at 9:30pm Ayden had a sudden headache, got dizzy, and walked towards the couch but then fell and hit the left side of his head on the corner of the end table. When he was helped up he showed signs of a stroke and his left side was weak - he couldn't lift his arm, drooping of the face, drooling, and complaining of a 10/10 headache. I helped him to the car and went to Mercy ER immediately. They took him in and treated him immediately for Stroke. They performed a CT and ECG to rule out heart concerns and for signs of seizures. He was given Toradol and then transferred to Children's Hospital ER for continued evaluation. The Dr saw him and sent him home with a diagnosis of Weakness & Migraines.

The next few days he continued with a headache and was very tired. He had moments of improvement but not completely.

On July 16th he went back to Children's Hospital because he didn't improve for an evaluation. The Dr ordered an MRI and Tick borne disease panel. They found on his MRI the injury to the head caused a dissection of the internal carotid artery on the right side that caused the clot & stroke. He has Basal Ganglia and Dysarthria that they are expecting he makes a full recovery from with PT, ST, and OT.

July 17th he had an Angiogram and Ultrasound to determine if there are other clots and it was found that he has a shallow and small Brain Aneurysm. He will need to be on blood thinners for the next 2 months so being careful not to have injury and bleed. He will have a CTA of the head done in 2 months to check on the clot and see what the next steps are. He is in the hands of one of the only Pediatric Stroke Specialists in the COUNTRY! He is also following up with the Genetics Team to see if he has a connective tissue disorder? Trying to find out why that vessel was weak?
