Hi, I’m Alberto, from the U.S., and I launched this campaign to help my friend Aya and her family save the life of her mother, Abeer, who is suffering from cancer.
Aya has been my best friend for over a year and we have become a family.
Here's their story:
Hello, I'm Aya, 19 years old. Here's a brief introduction to my family:
My family consists of 10 members: my father, my mother, me, my brothers (Mohammed, Yousef, and Obada), my sisters (Iman and Mira), my brother's wife, and my grandmother. My mother, my father, my brother Yousef, and my sister Mira traveled to Egypt to accompany my mother, who was traveling to receive treatment for her malignant second-stage cancer (she traveled thanks to the generosity of donors, and $6,000 was spent through this link). Meanwhile, my sister Iman, my brother and his wife, my younger brother Mohammed, and myself were prevented from leaving Gaza due to the occupation.
My mother, Abeer, was a dedicated teacher and a loving mother, but the war has devastated our lives. Before the war, my mother was a symbol of strength and giving, but with the outbreak of war, she stopped working, and we discovered that she had advanced cancer. Thanks to God and then your support, she was able to travel to Egypt for treatment, but her health condition remains critical. My mother desperately needs your support to continue her treatment, as every moment could be crucial for her. We, her family, have no choice but to hope that you will help us restore her health and the life of our family, which has been devastated by the war.
My father worked as a policeman and owned a large supermarket, supporting his family with love and dedication. But during the war, he was severely injured in his hand while trying to protect what remained of our lives. The injury was so severe that it was threatened with amputation, were it not for the grace of God and the expertise of Dr. Mohammed Taher Al-Iraqi of the FAJR Foundation. This injury was a turning point in our lives. We lost the financial stability we had enjoyed, and my father suffered physical and psychological pain as a result of what he went through.
I am Aya, a student from Gaza. Despite my young age, I bear this burden and face life with all my strength. The war has devastated our lives. I lost my school, and my dream of studying medicine has been postponed. But despite the difficulties, I still hold on to hope and strive to complete my studies. Today, I need your support to help my family treat my mother, who is suffering from cancer, and to overcome the difficulties we are experiencing after the devastation we have suffered.
Your support is our only hope for my mother's treatment. I will also share with you photos of my family during the war and displacement.
All donations made to date have been sent to Aya to help cover the costs of her mother, father, and siblings' passage to Egypt.
The situation in Egypt has been extremely difficult for her family. They were hospitalized and postponed treatment because they were charged fees that we have not been able to collect to date.
Needless to say, the situation in Gaza has returned to catastrophic condition, and Aya and her older siblings are struggling to survive.
We appreciate your continued support.
