Help Ayanna Study Abroad this Summer
Donation protected
Hello Everyone,
My name is Ayanna Johnson I am a student at the #1 Public HBCU North Carolina A&T State University located in Greensboro, North Carolina. If you know nothing about my school one thing you will hear is how A&T alum, staff, and students thrive on Aggie Pride.

Aggie Pride is knowing that being in attendance at football games, dancing along with the Marching Band, and attending classes in buildings named after black astronauts is not just a luxury but a statement to the world of the greatness we are a part of. Aggie Pride is knowing that the college we attend will educate and inspire us to follow our dreams even if it means going against the status quo. I am using this inspiration now to put my pride aside and ask for help.
Though I am fortunate enough to have family that has helped me my entire collegiate career, I know that a cost like this is something we can not handle alone. So I ask for donations to pay for my study abroad program which includes an internship (under NATO & the European Union), money for my flights to and from Europe, and money for me while I am abroad (including visas/food/phone chips/etc). An opportunity like this only comes once in a lifetime, especially in your undergrad years, and I would hate to say the only reason I am ineligible is funding. This may be considered impossible to most (especially due to the deadline), but if you know me you know the impossible always seems to be just within reach if I work a little bit harder.

The deadline for funds is April 20th (MY BIRTHDAY) if you were considering giving me money, or a gift I would please ask you to help me get to Europe instead. If the goal is not reached and I am ineligible to go, I will use the money toward my last year at A&T and the rest will be donated to a nonprofit I work with in Greensboro (Mary's Angel). I CAN GO TO EUROPE & AM NOT FOCUSING ON FUNDS WHILE ABROAD BECAUSE MEALS AND TRAVEL ARE NOT COVERED.

Some may not know this, but I am learning to follow my dreams and become a Lawyer, a program like this will help me when I am in Law school. The chance to go and learn from changemakers within NATO will also serve as a competitive edge to the millions of students that apply to law school across the nation every year. If I receive any scholarships outside the GOFUNDME, the donation goal will be adjusted to reflect that and everyone who donates will be updated. All donators will receive a personal thank you note and be automatically subscribed (if you would like) to my email list. I want to give the chance to all who helped me see Brussels to be there with me every step of the way.
If you would like a full description of my abroad program outside of what is listed above, please don't hesitate to contact me or my parents whenever you would like.
During my time in Brussels, I will be...
Studying within the Vesalius College at the Brussels School of Governance. The classes will incorporate business, politics, and international relations. During my stay, I will intern under a representative within NATO and the EU at a time when they are tackling humanitarian efforts like the Ukrainian/Russian crisis. I'll attend seminars and workshops that feature the same key decision-makers and other leaders within the European Union. Living in a home-stay (with a Belgian family) will be an ideal starting point for international travel on the weekends. I'll have the opportunity to see cities like Paris, London, Cologne, and Amsterdam while learning French. I'll get to see internationally renowned museums that are only a train ride away, and taste some of the world's most famous foods and drinks, including 'Pommes Frites' (French fries), waffles, chocolate, and other types of food.
