Help Ayanna Smith's Family in Their Time of Need
Donation protected
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Ayanna Smith, a cherished sister, daughter, friend, and esteemed community leader, on July 14th, 2024. Ayanna transitioned to join the ancestors after delivering a beautiful baby girl, leaving behind a true legacy of love.
Ayanna was a natural creatress, mixed media visual artist, urban farmer, and devoted mother who was born and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. Her impact extended far beyond her artistic talents; she was a dedicated community movement builder, advocating for both social and global justice – and focused on expanding the rights and capacities of Black women and families, creating healing justice initiatives, community altars and murals, and wellness spaces that fostered strength and resilience. Ayanna is the embodiment of community care and her loss requires us to give back a fraction of what she gave to us all.
Ayanna's family and community are deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support received thus far. As they navigate this challenging time, we ask for your continued thoughts, prayers, and support especially her children who are now without their loving mother.
To honor Ayanna's extraordinary life and legacy, we are reaching out to her extended community for assistance. Your generous contributions will help cover expenses and provide essential support to her five children during this difficult period.
Thank you to everyone who has already offered their condolences and assistance. Your kindness and generosity are deeply appreciated during this difficult time.
Funds from this fundraiser are being transferred to Ayanna's father, David Smith, and her best friend, Ashley Williams.
