This fund is for a young man by the name Axel Serrano. Six years ago, he was struck by an autoimmune disease called Guillain-Barre syndrome that paralyzes the body completely. Axel fell into a coma for two years and woke up to being completely quadriplegic. He had to have support from a breathing machine, catheter, colonoscopy bag, and a feeding tube. His mother, Aleida, took care of him on a daily basis and had to stop her life and work to dedicate it to taking care of him. While her youngest son and daughter started working to pay rent, bills, and groceries, they barely made it financially all these years. Axel became the breadwinner after his father passed away 10 years ago.

This weekend, his body gave up after fighting for so many years. A severe infection from a bed wound invaded his body and caused it to shut down. He had a big heart, wanting to donate his organs, but that was impossible due to organ failure. But his intention to help people made him a man with a big heart.
