Help Axel Eduardo and His Mom Stay Strong

Hello, my name is Enrique and I am creating this fundraiser to help Axel Eduardo.

I met Axel during a recent visit to the Children's Hospital in Chihuahua, México.

Axel is a very brave 6-year-old who is facing a very difficult battle. He was born with what is known as 'lazy intestines,' which is a condition where waste moves very slowly in the digestive system.

A few weeks ago, his condition worsened, blocking his intestine and causing a life-threatening infection. He was taken to the emergency room on May 9th in critical condition.

Three weeks have gone by. He has undergone a couple of surgeries, and his prognosis is guarded. He is growing tired and is losing motivation to keep fighting.

Axel is the youngest child of a single mother who has quit her job to be by his side. She is struggling to make it emotionally, physically, as well as financially. She does not have a support system that could help her take some of the weight off her shoulders.

Axel needs his mom by his side. She is his rock, his source of encouragement, and his safe place.

From time to time, she has to go home to take a shower or grab some food. Every time she goes home, it takes her at least two hours and a couple on a bus to get there, and of course, another two hours to get back to the hospital. Also, since she does not have a job currently and focuses completely on Axel's recovery, there are days where she does not know where her next meal will come from.

This is where we need to step in. We need to give Axel the best opportunity to conquer this challenge, and in order to do that, he needs his mom by his side, not having to worry about external matters. This fundraiser is intended to take some of the burden off her mind so she can concentrate on giving Axel the strength needed to recover.

The money we are trying to collect will help her to buy groceries or order meals to be delivered to her. She could pay for a taxi or Uber when going home, cutting her time away from Axel drastically; pay utility bills that will continue to pile up while Axel is hospitalized.

In other words, I am asking you to become part of her support system so that she does not have to worry about anything else but to provide Axel the love, care, and strength needed in these trying times.

This fundraiser should cover about two months of basic needs expenses. Since we don't know how long this ordeal will take, I plan to re-launch the campaign in due time if still needed.
