Hi everyone,
We are raising funds to help Aviad, our amazing friend brother and uncle to get out of ICE detention at Otay Mesa Detention Center in San Diego, California.
Aviad’s story is deeply rooted in family, work, and community. Over the years, he has built meaningful connections in the United States and tried to live responsibly and contribute to the people around him. For the past year, he has been living in the Bay Area. Before that, he lived in New York for almost 10 years on a working visa worked for the Jewish Federation in New York , At the end of that working period, his contract came to end , and he returned home. Afterwards, he came back as a tourist using ESTA, and in a short time he tried to continue his life and plans here with his family who lives here . Unfortunately, his change in status and the circumstances around his entry have made the legal situation more complicated, increasing the urgency and cost of getting the right help immediately.
On Friday, June 5, he got detained by ICE at San Diego airport when he landed.
During his time in the US, Aviad helped anyone he could, built strong friendships, and stayed focused on doing the right thing. He also met the person he calls his soul mate—someone whose life has been directly impacted by his detention.
Your donation will be used to:
- Secure a trusted immigration attorney to handle his case and pursue the most appropriate legal path forward.
- Pay for bond/release-related costs
- Cover basic living and rent expenses for Aviad while he is detained
Please help us support my brother Aviad during this time of crisis.
We will share updates as they come.
Thank you so much for your support.
