Help Avery Swallow

Hi everyone,
I’m fundraising for my daughter Avery who had a massive bleed in the brain following 22 minutes without oxygen at birth. Avery has never been discharged since birth and recently just spent her first birthday in intensive care.
The issues at birth have led to my beautiful daughter having many complex issues, one of which being the inability to swallow. This has lead to my daughter needing to be put on a ventilator several times, and many times struggling to get off it. It has also led to her getting 3 collapsed lungs, 5 spells of pneumonia and her lungs filling up with fluid more times than I can remember.
In order give Avery a fighting chance of a quality of life outside of hospital, she will require intensive therapies and treatment which are not available on the NHS. Many of these treatments are not available in the UK, and would mean travelling to Germany, Hong Kong, USA or Canada.
Learning to swallow is a very complex process which can’t be fixed overnight, although these therapies and treatments have shown to be successful in children similar to Avery.
Without treatment, we would need to carry a suction machine around with her at all times, and have carers overnight whilst we sleep incase she needs suction. This severely impacts simple this like being a family, and getting her into the community.
