Hello, my name is Avery Walton, I'm 19 years old, and a Sophomore at Towson University. I am a Mass Communications major on the Strategic Public Relations and Integrated Communications Track with a minor in English. I finished off my freshman year with a 3.73 GPA and a 3.60 cumulative. I work as an Orientation Leader for Towson, a Community Center Assistant in the Residence Tower dormitories, and I have a new job as a retail associate at the Children's Place in Towson Town Center. 

I honestly thought I would be able to raise the money by myself and with the support of my mother in time before the semester started but time is not on my side. In short, I don't have enough scholarships or financial aid to cover the Spring 2019 tuition cost. My total left over is $4364 since paying for a portion of it over the summer, and I'm hoping to use the extra to help me pay for my books.

There's a number of reasons why I didn't have enough money to finish off the school year, I wasn't very good at saving before college started, according to the Federal Government my mother should be able to almost completely pay for my tuition,and I have no credit history so applying for loans myself is impossible. Due to her falling so ill so close to my graduation year, we're still paying hospital bills and not paying tuition. This is really embarrassing and even as many scholarships I have applied to, I have been met with constant denials and even smaller amounts. I just need to get my balance under $250 in order to register for classes next semester.
