Hi everyone i'm Avery, a 26 year old queer artist from the Bay Area! (he/him they/them)
I've been planning to have my top surgery since 2013 when I was 18, now I finally have had my consultation for surgery, have a date for surgery and my note for 6+ Weeks off of work that I will need to heal. I'll be off work for two months or more as I heal and will need to be off of school as well, which will set me back monetarily for sure.
For almost 10 years now, I have been working with my therapist, friends, and family to get to a place where i'm not as scared of the idea of surgery anymore. My goal is to raise enough money for my insurance co-pay and my time off that I will need for surgery healing as well.
My date for surgery is in the second week of April just a few short weeks away, and unfortunately my hours at work even working full time has been cut to just three days a week which has extremely cut how much money i'm able to save since now it's just affording to take care of groceries not just for my husband and I but also for my two cats and one puppy.
