Together for Avery – Help Him Heal and Come Home

Hello everyone,

My name is Renee and I’m the mother of Avery — or AJ, as our friends and family know him. On October 30th, our lives changed forever when Avery was in a devastating car accident in North Carolina. He was a passenger in a vehicle and has been in critical care at a hospital in North Carolina ever since.

Avery suffered a traumatic brain injury (Diffuse Axonal Injury), along with six broken ribs, torn spinal ligaments, a lung infection, and remains in a coma. Despite everything, there are signs that he’s still fighting. His body responds to touch and we hold onto that hope every single day.

Doctors have told us this will be a long road to recovery, but we believe in Avery’s strength and the power of God’s grace and community.

Our family is from Houston, Texas, and I’ve remained in North Carolina to be by his side. The distance and time away from home have made this journey not only emotionally challenging but also financially difficult. We are asking for help to raise $15,000 to support Avery’s ongoing care and to eventually bring him home.

Lodging, food, and daily needs while I stay near him

Medical and rehabilitation expenses, including physical therapy during his hospital stay and beyond

Transporting Avery home to Texas when he’s stable enough to travel.
