Earlier this month, our dear friend and colleague, Avery Black, experienced a sudden and life-threatening medical emergency that resulted in a prolonged series of seizures lasting over 12 hours.
Avery is not only a beloved friend—she is a highly respected and accomplished performer and a rising director/producer, known for her work with Adult Time and for bringing a fresh, creative perspective to virtual reality and immersive storytelling in the adult industry.
She is also one of the very few female AAPI director/producers in history to successfully work in the mainstream adult space.
Recently, she has taken the genre of virtual reality adult entertainment by storm as a director and producer, all while maintaining her career as a top performer on the coveted Spiegler Girls roster—a rare and hard-earned position that reflects her talent, grit and professionalism.
During this medical crisis, Avery lost consciousness multiple times and sustained serious injuries, including a concussion, a severe eye injury and an orbital fracture that will require surgery. She was ultimately transported by emergency services and is now in recovery.
In the aftermath, Avery is facing an incredibly difficult reality:
• She will be unable to work for at least 2 months while she heals.
• She is navigating mounting medical expenses, including major surgery.
While she does have some health coverage through her insurance, there are still substantial out of pocket costs for copays, medication and more that are already becoming overwhelming.
Anyone who knows Avery knows how much she gives—to her collaborators, her audiences, and her community. She shows up with heart, humor, and vision, and has been building something meaningful in an industry where her voice and perspective truly matter.
Now she needs us.
Funds raised will go toward:
• Emergency medical care and upcoming eye surgery.
• Rent and essential living expenses for her basic needs during recovery while she is unable to work.
This has been a deeply traumatic and frightening experience—but Avery is here. She is healing. And with the right support, she will be able to recover and return to the work and the beautiful life she’s been working so hard to build.
If you’re able to contribute, any amount makes a real difference. If you can’t donate, sharing this page also helps more than you know.
Let’s show up for Avery the way she has shown up for so many.
She truly deserves all the support, comfort, and healing we can offer her at this time, so please give at whatever capacity you can, and spread the word.
